 Marrano taps Van Nortwick to lead new Lancaster housing project

                The Marrano Marc/Equity Corporation, Buffalo and Western New York’s leading, locally-owned new home builder has announced the hiring of Thomas H. VanNortwick as New Home Construction Professional.  In that role, VanNortwick will be responsible for new home sales at Central Square Villas Town Homes in Lancaster.  He will assist all types of purchasers with a variety of products:  affordable two-story plans starting in the $160's for younger buyers, active adults looking for a first-floor master bedroom and empty-nesters looking for a ranch style home.

Marrano, president of Marrano Marc/Equity.  “His extensive experience will help us as we continue to develop Central Square Villas into one of the most sought after mixed-used neighborhoods in the region.  He is well-versed in financing which will provide a valuable added benefit to purchasers who apply for financing.”

                Central Square, located off Pleasant View Drive, is unique, private, 200-unit community that offers special features for residents including a community center and in-ground swimming pool.  It is located in a country setting in Lancaster with easy access to may conveniences, including shopping, entertainment, the Village of Lancaster and the New York State Thruway.  It is within the highly-rated Lancaster School District.

A Lancaster resident, VanNortwick retired last year as assistant commissioner and regional director for the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal.              

Prior to going to work for the state, VanNortwick was vice president for business development for Marrano, a post he held for four years.  His previous experience includes serving as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Algonquin Broadcasting Corporation of Buffalo, executive director, State University of New York at Buffalo Student Service Corporation, and an accountant for Deloitte and Touche.

VanNortwick is a former town council member in Lancaster, director of the Rotary Club of Buffalo and president of the Lancaster School Board.  A licensed real estate agent and certified public accountant, he is a graduate of Canisius College.
