ROOMS WITH A FLAIR: 'Beachy Fresh' defines 1200 Hillsboro Mile model residence

When developers of the 1200 Hillsboro Mile waterfront condominiums wanted to decorate a model residence that would appeal primarily to vacation buyers, they looked to Robb & Stucky Interiors' design team of Rene Evans, ASID, and Richard Ramus, IDS.

The designers are in the Boca Raton office. The model is within the completed Intracoastal building.

"Because we wanted the overall décor style to be 'tropical soft contemporary,' we incorporated natural stained woods; wicker; rattan; and several painted, clean-lined furniture pieces," said Evans. "Fabrics are mostly solid with beach stripes. They are natural (e.g., linen, cotton, silk), easy to live with, and 'fresh' and cheerful. We even threw into the mix a few palm fronds for fun."

Evans added, "These interiors appeal to a buyer who enjoys nature and wants to live on the water with a comfortable, casual lifestyle.

"The model, which directly overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway, projects a 'kick-your-shoes-off-and-relax' ambience."

The color palette was derived from the exterior colors of the building. Because the residence features wide expanses of glass opening onto large balconies, the team decided to bring the outside in through color, and vice versa.

"The palette is a base of butter cream with hits of tropical yellows, soft tangerines and pistachios," Evans noted.

DECOR IS UPSCALE, ECLECTIC

"We wanted the spaces to be unpretentious, and Rene and Richard achieved that for us. They were right on target, and our buyers and potential buyers love this model," said Vic Martucci, vice president of land and diversification for Western New York State—based Marrano/Marc Equity Corp. "So will anyone who sees it."

The same design team furnished the public spaces at 1200 Hillsboro Mile with a Key West/British West Indies—style décor that is on the upscale, traditional side and features an eclectic flair. Clean lines; warm woods; and hues of russets, yellows and greens are featured.

WATERFRONT COMMUNITY IS IN QUAINT TOWN

1200 Hillsboro Mile is along a stretch of waterfront property in the quaint residential town of Hillsboro Beach, just south of Boca Raton/Deerfield Beach and north of Pompano Beach/Fort Lauderdale.

Prices for three-bedroom units with about 2,000 square feet, in the Intracoastal building, range from $649,900 to $1.2 million. The building has 11 residences.

Amenities include a lobby, media room with a furnished entertainment deck, fitness center, pool and poolhouse, beach and Intracoastal access, and dock space for visitors' crafts up to 50 feet long.

Prices in a second building - across the street and on the ocean - that features 18 residences begin at $1,395,000.
